Headstand Variations, April 15th, 1.30pm; $35
Headstand (Sirsasana) is the first of the 12 yoga poses practiced in our open class sequence.
This posture benefits the brain, spinal cord, and sympathetic nervous system and strengthens the circulatory and respiratory systems. If you are comfortable with this asana, learn variations of the basic posture to stretch and strengthen different body parts. Using legs and arms interchangeably, with ease and balance, will produce lightness within the body, deep focus, and clarity of the mind. There are many variations of the Headstand. You will receive support in guidance in those that you feel comfortable with and are best suited to your current practice level.
Teacher: Kartikeya is a long-time Sivananda Yoga teacher who has been practicing and teaching Yoga for over ten years. He has a deep knowledge of Hatha Yoga and a very practical and supportive teaching style.

Kirtan and Chai
April 23rd, Sunday, 6pm; $35
offered in person
Join us for an evening of Kirtan and Chai. We will learn commonly used mantras as well as chants that help open the heart and express the joy. Mantras are helpful tools used for meditation practice or just daily repetition in order to increase focus and gain clarity. Chanting is a natural way to connect with the Divine and one of the practices of Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of Devotion). Previous knowledge of chanting or Sanskrit is not necessary.
We will focus on learning the melodies, the meaning and we will have some time to connect with each other (and we will have chai or herbal tea!). The workshop is offered at the Yoga Center.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
