Introductory Workshop to the Gokhale Method for Primal Posture
with Lang Liu
The Gokhale Method uses healthy posture and movement to help you restore your structural integrity and regain a pain-free life. It addresses the root cause of most muscle and joint pain. In this method, we teach principles to comfortably alter the way you stand, sit, and move, to heal from pain and return to a posture that builds strength and resilience, and minimizes compression, tension, and degeneration. Most pain can be attributed to how we hold ourselves and how we move. We rely on our culture to guide us, but about a century ago, our culture took a wrong turn. As a result, a majority of adults experience back pain at some point in their lives. We are marvellously designed beings, with an inherent grace and strength like every other creature on the planet. If we respect our natural design, we can function well for close to a century.

In this 1.5-hour workshop, you will be introduced to the principles of the Gokhale Method. You will then learn “Stack Sitting”: how to sit properly and comfortably, cross-legged, on the floor. You will also learn the safe and proper technique for “Hip-Hinging”: Forward Bends.

Teacher: Lang Liu is a Gokhale Method teacher, a Sivananda Yoga teacher and a Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian martial art) teacher. She has many years of experience teaching, practicing and learning from the ancient traditions.
