$45 /workshop; $120 for three workshops (offered in person at the Yoga Center and online)
There is something sacred inside each one of us that vibrates in perfect harmony with the Universe. However, the cacophony of our thoughts prevents us from enjoying this inner harmony. Nada Yoga teaches us how to rise above this noise, go deeper into our hearts and discover the inexhaustible source of inner peace and strength there. Nada Yoga is a wonderful confluence of the art of music and the science of Yoga, Mudras, Ayurveda, and Vedic Astrology. Nada Yoga envisages Music as a means of Enlightenment by exploring the energetic aspect of Music.
In this series of three workshops, Ram Vakkalanka will present the spiritual side of music and explain the relationship between music and the energetic aspects of our mind-body system. Ram presents music from a unique perspective and its soothing quality truly enthralls the audience. In Ram’s hands, the musical notes become Mantras and create a vibrant, energetic, and peaceful ambiance.

This series of workshops involves intermittent guided meditation to the accompaniment of live Sitar music. Please dress comfortably.
While it is recommended to take all the three workshops in this series , mixing and matching according to your convenience has its own benefits too. You can register below for one or all three workshops. Online participants will receive a Zoom link for the workshop two days before the workshop).

REVITALIZE YOURSELF THROUGH MANTRA AND KIRTAN
Mantras are Sacred Vibrations that embody specific Energies of the Universe. Chanting Mantras attracts the Cosmic Energies, channels them inward, and ignites corresponding energies inside the practitioner. Mantras help energize and center ourselves, calm the negative chatter of the mind, deal with addictions, improve self-image, break thru obstacles in life and induce inner peace and harmony. Mantra chanting promotes concentration and leads to a deep meditative state. In this call-and-response style of Kirtan, Ram is going to lead us in chanting some energizing Mantras with our hearts. Ram peppers his Kirtan with stories of the Deities in his lively and humorous fashion. Even though the call-and-response style of Kirtan involves music, no musical training is necessary for participation.

CLEANSING NEGATIVE EMOTIONS THROUGH NADA YOGA
In modern times we are often forced to suppress our so-called negative emotions. Emotional energy is not going to just vanish but lurks in deeper levels of consciousness and affects us in subtle ways, preventing the manifestation of our full potential. Nada Yoga is a very effective way of cleansing the negative emotions hiding within the deeper layers of consciousness. In this session, Ram is going to present Ragas to cleanse the negative emotions on the Sitar. Surrender to the music and let the magical tones of the Sitar heal you from within.
Sunday, September 11th; 11am -1pm
CHAKRA BALANCING THROUGH NADA YOGA
Chakras are the energy centers in the subtle body that influence our health and well-being – physical, mental, and spiritual. These storehouses of power also hold the key to unleashing the best and the highest potential in us. Understanding the Chakras, how to cleanse and balance them as well as unleash the energy locked up inside them can have an incredibly transformational impact on us. Nada Yoga is one of the most effective ways to balance the Chakras, remove mento-emotional energy blockages, and gently carry the mind to a tranquil state where inner healing becomes possible. In this workshop, Ram will guide the audience into Chakra meditation involving mantras and mudras and present appropriate Ragas (melodies) on the Sitar to balance the Chakras.
