Ayurveda and Yoga Wellness Counsellor Certification Course

This course will provide you with a profound understanding of Ayurveda both in theory and practice and will allow you to develop your own healthy lifestyle and enable you to counsel others. Applying Ayurveda therapeutically within a yogic lifestyle, you will learn how to design balanced Ayurvedic health programs that include daily health regimens, diet therapy, nutrition and herbal remedies.

We believe that it is possible for anyone to help family, friends and others to progress towards perfect health by using Ayurvedic-based regimes and lifestyle suggestions. This course is open to all students wishing to learn about Ayurveda or to bring their Ayurvedic practice to another level. Anyone looking for a deeper understanding of Ayurveda and Yoga wellness, as well as those who are involved in other healing arts will greatly benefit from this course.

In this course you will:

  • Learn the foundations of Ayurveda and how to apply them in daily life.

The goal of this training program is to produce qualified and inspiring Ayurveda and Yoga Wellness counsellors who are able to draw on their own practice and personal discipline while imparting the Ayurvedic experience to others. The 50hrs Ayurveda and Yoga Wellness Counsellor Certification Course includes theory as well as practical sessions.

Theory sessions overview:
  • Determine your own body type based on Tridosha theory
  • Guidance on how to pursue Ayurvedic preventive methods such as daily and seasonal routine (Dincharya and Ritucharya).
  • Introduction of the fundamental principles of Ayurveda: the Five Basic Elements theory, Tridosha theory and Sankhya philosophy
  • Concepts of Ama, Agni, Ojas, Seven Tissues (Dhatu) and Channels (Srotas)
  • Importance of Ayurvedic home remedies for Doshic imbalance and prevention
  • Overview on Panchakarma and self oil massage (Abhyanga)
  • Usage of common Ayurvedic herbs and spices
Practical sessions overview:
  • Preparation of Ayurvedic digestive formulas
  • Preparation of Ayurvedic home remedies
  • Introductory session for Ayurvedic cooking and Tridoshic recipes.
  • There will be a meet and greet with your teachers and fellow students on the first morning and a graduation ceremony after the last lecture, on the 17th.

To enjoy fully this unique, profoundly transforming personal experience it is important to attend all sessions. It is also recommended to follow a lifestyle that is conducive to the course, for example by going to bed early, having simple food and engaging in calming activities.

Daily Schedule:
  • 8:00 – 10:00 am:
    Yoga Class
  • 12:00 – 2:00 pm:
    Ayurvedic lecture, discussion and demonstrations
  • 3:30 – 5:00 pm:
    Ayurvedic lecture or practical session

*The Yoga Classes are given by the instructors from the Sivananda Yoga camp and are suitable for beginners. Study with Canada’s foremost authority on Ayurveda.

Dr. Sonal Bhatt M.D. (Ayurveda) is a highly qualified Ayurvedic physician and Panchakarma specialist. from one of the leading Ayurvedic universities in India, Jamnagar Ayurvedic University. She is a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant from CSNN Toronto. She has been practicing as an Ayurvedic consultant, Panchkarma specialist, teacher and researcher in India, Canada and North America for over 30 years. She is currently practicing and teaching Ayurveda and offering holistic health services in Toronto.
