Archana is a traditional form of worship where the divine names of the deity are chanted while offering flowers. In the worship of Lord Shiva, this ritual reflects devotion, stillness, and inner offering.

In temple tradition, it is understood that offering Archana to Lord Shiva represents a quiet turning inward. As each name is chanted, devotees are reminded of different aspects of the Divine, creating a sense of reflection and awareness.

It is commonly believed that this form of worship supports mental calmness, clarity, and a sense of inner balance.

The priest chants the sacred names of Lord Shiva (typically 108 or 1000 names), offering flowers with each name. The devotee’s name, nakshatra, and gothra are included in the sankalpa.
