Come and learn from renowned artist Chintan Upadhyay. This weekend program will teach you about Naad Yoga and Chintan will be able to show you some techniques on the practice. In addition, there will be a concert Friday night that will leave your soul filled peace and joy.
Chintan Upadhyay, born in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India started his initial training under his parents at the age of six. He finished his Sangeet Alankar under Pt. Laxmipati Shukla, a disciple of Pt. Omkarnath Thakur. He also studied the Kirana Gharana from Shri Ashvin Andhariya (disciple of Pt. Rasiklal Andhariya). Then he went to Pune and did his Masters in Classical vocal from University of Pune under Dr. Vikas Kashalkar & Pt. Vijay Koparkar. After that he surrendered his heart towards the tutelage of Pt. Uday Bhawalkar ji in true Guru-Shishya Parampara and has been learning Dhrupad since last fourteen years. He received scholarship for young musicians from Govt of India and was awarded Junior Research Fellowship for Dhrupad studies in 2014 by Indian government. He has been performing and teaching Dhrupad all over the world by workshops and also by online teachings.
